Re: Buying a Honda E in 2024

Buying the Honda e is an emotional decision first. You might then put some rational into it and see if it cancels the first or not :) At this stage - there is no other car on the market that creates the same emotion with me. So, I would buy again. Fall might change the situation, but i need to see ...

Re: Recall software update

One thing the technician said was he had to remove my BM2 monitor because it was stopping the battery from reaching 16v+ for the update to work, don’t know if that was for all the updates, he also said to leave it disconnected so the battery system can maintain the correct voltage of the 12v batter...

Re: Battery status info

That's not true. I reverse engineered the messages and confirming with the original diagnostic tools. My App uses the same data the original diagnostic tool uses. Sources are here: https://github.com/DanielH1987/HONDAeInsight Also ABRP now uses the same messages to read the data off of OBD2. So are...

As I stated earlier: it was confirmed by the mechanic that this behaviour is normal.
Honda dealers in the UK do NOT do this.
Portugals don't do either...

Re: Battery status info

Those apps only report what the BMS says. And if the inspection was just done, the SoH is resetted to something around 90%. I saw that myself on my e and I talked to the technician that confirmed my observation. The e needs to drive - in my case - around 5000km after n inspection before the SoH rep...

Re: HV battery votlages/tests

The problem with the stance of 'its just firmware' is that in a tesla, the firmware is all centrally controlled and managed by a single corporation. The honda e will be a mish mash of vendors, honda may not even own/control the firmware of half the modules (they are the customer , not the owner/pro...

Re: HV battery votlages/tests

I doubt that largely improved cells will be made in the same form factor. It stands to reason that if there was a precedence for improved cells in the same form factor, we would have seen it already, rather than the form factor changing over time (which is what seems to be the case). Perhaps there ...
