Re: First OTA update released!

There's been a number of 12V battery failures recently on these cars, and apparently Honda themselves suspect they might be related to the recent OTA update. As such, might be best not to be too eager to update at this time. EDIT: I've been told that should the OTA update get stuck in some step (in ...

Re: Dead Honda e

Dealership called me; Honda asked them to ask me if my car notified me of an OTA update before the 12V battery died. It did.

I got the impression they're indeed suspecting a connection between the two now.

Re: Dead Honda e

Was the test performed with the battery still connected to the vehicle? Perhaps the batteries that have depleted are a little more resilient than we had expected... Yeah, both tests were with the battery connected. Should I have questioned this? Well well...I found my old multimeter, and decided to...

Re: Dead Honda e

Yeah, I'm aware it apparently only charges some of the time. Had a 3rd party battery test done now; 12.86V & 394 A, voltage with the car powered up was 14.64 V. As such, the battery does seem fine now. Perhaps the 3 V reading the road service guy got when it was dead was false, though I saw it w...

Re: Dead Honda e

Out of curiosity, has anyone experienced a dead 12v battery with the car being plugged in? Yes. The HV battery was at 100% when the car was revived with a starter. Now that I look at my data, I can see a fairly obvious pattern here; during this month there was only one day on which I didn't drive t...

Re: Dead Honda e

I misunderstood it never moved, that must be weak then, maybe a cell has gone? My charging typically takes about 3 hours (5A) with one and 4/5 hours (4A) with the other to full, the chargers also have slightly different current/pulse graphs. Well that's what I expected, yet as I wrote, it passed th...

Re: Dead Honda e

I think that might be normal. I regularly charge the 12V maybe once a month since do few miles, and both (different) smart chargers start at 1 bar display showing around 12.3V more or less. Never had a flat yet and the car is now 2 and 1/2 years old. Waiting to see what happens after 3 years! Your ...

Re: Dead Honda e

So after my e died last saturday (or maybe already on friday?), Honda's road service came to revive it and stated the 12 volt battery was at 3 volts. While most would consider the battery irrecoverable, surprisingly the car has worked since. I have used a 12 V charger afterwards, in an effort to kee...

Re: Dead Honda e

This just happened to my car (first reg 2022-06, done a little over 9000 km total). I parked it the day before yesterday and plugged it in, didn't go anywhere yesterday, and today it was completely dead. Charging light wasn't blinking, either. Since the charger couldn't be released, I had to pull th...

Re: Gone Electric!

First job is to get the dash cam plumbed in, but any general advice for a first timer would be much appreciated! As EEEE stated, there is an official dashcam, but it's very expensive and image quality might not be as good as (good) aftermarket cameras. These photos by londiniumperson were very usef...
