I was wondering what the differences between the 2 models of Vgate vLinker were.
Looking on the Vgate website It seems that the MC+ is the newer version and has the additional features:
  • Woken up Remotely
  • Single Wire CAN
  • Hacker-proof
  • About £15 more expensive
though it seems the iOS version is not hacker proof after all because it auto connects to BT with no manual intervention unlike connecting on Android where the 'Connect' button needs pressing.

This was the one I wanted to test but wasn't sure if it would work.

Is anyone using an iPhone for 'Power check control' & also has anyone paid for the 'Power cruise control subscription @£20.99pa?

I tried a Carista dongle which once I had disabled Apple CarPlay, my iPhone listed the OBD dongle in these apps, but even though the 'Power check control' app connected to the car there was no data:

PKC should work with the PCC subscription. When you register with PCC for the first time you get 1 month free so I did not pay anything yet and both apps worked.
I don't know what vgate blinker BM+ 4.0 has special but till now only that dongle seems to work. But that dongle works only with PCC, I cannot get it to work with torque pro, car scanner and many other obd2 apps. Cannot connect to the ECU with all these apps, exactly same problem like the OBDLink LX.

Hi please remember that OBDlink LX is Android and PC only. I used it with Android and PCC and without problems. I assume that you tried this adapter with iOS?

No with Android. I cannot get it to work. What firmware you have? I am on the latest one 5.6.19
Or did you change any settings with the OBDlink official app? Actually there are a few settings that can be changed but never tried

Thanks. Same as me but I am 26k km. Can you do PKC test?
What is your charging style? You charge to 100% usually?

Today I tried to change some setting in my OBDlink LX adapter and it worked with PCC. Very surprised as when I tried it the first time did not connect. I should have tried a bit longer..... Gets me more confused actually. Still cannot find a suitable protocol to work with the Hondae e with all other apps.

Thanks. So with 28kWh at 100%?
And the test with PKC you did it at 100% SOC?
I did it at 55% and gave me 89%

Maybe I should try at 100% SOC next time.

I don't usually charge over 80/90% given the fact that I mostly Charge at DC50 so the last kw are too slow and costly€. When I get the chance to do a 100% SOC I'll post it. The report from PKC gave a 90.7% max capacity.. (I had 32% SOC when the report was generated) given that I charge 90% of the time at DC50 and have 40 000kms it the odometer I don't think it's bad.
