Preconditioning fogs up the windows

So yeah, it takes less than 5 minutes to fog up so badly one can't really see through the side windows anymore. At least the windscreen doesn't fog up completely, thanks to the Advance trim having the electric defroster wires embedded in the glass...

The car is still under factory warranty, yet the dealership charged me for "reading fault codes" and said "we didn't find anything wrong with the car".

Sheer incompetence, or just normal Honda ownership experience?

Very odd. I get very little condensation in mine, and running climate pre-conditioning completely clears all windows.

I had foggy windows until I drove a few days with the heating in manual mode with AC/on. Could the glass roof be leaking?

Happens to me all the time in Winter. I even have a litte bag to collect condensation in the car (maybe I need a bigger one?). I've just kinda learned to live with it - after a few minutes of driving with the "real" heat on, it goes away.

first, I would change the cabin air filter, than I would someone look up the AC system. Stick some newspaper under the floor mats, change them every second day.

The front screens are always clear because they contain a heating element. The rear screen's heating element must be turned on manually.
However all of my side windows fog up like crazy.

I wonder if there's a difference in settngs between using the fob vs. the app?

Well, it's called the laws of physics. Can't blame Honda for that. What you call sheer incompetence is what normal people call condensation.

When using the preconditioning you're simply heating up moist air. When that moist air hits the cold windows, the air cools down. Cold air can't hold moisture as much, so the windows fog up.

To reduce fogging run the heater and AC together to warm the air and remove moisture, and direct airflow toward the windows. Crack a window slightly to ventilate and keep the interior dry by removing snow, using moisture absorbers for instance.
