Good afternoon all,
How old is my new Honda E Advance?
The car was delivered by Honda at Reading to the authorised dealer with 11 miles on the clock which was registered by the manufacture in early 2024.
Although the car appears to be brand new backed by Honda's warranty, , I wondered when the last E was built?
Incidentally, I have become familiar with the car for the last 3 months and appreciate it's rarity and original design.
Would be interested to here from members.

Honda E registered in 2024 - how old ?
L=2020
M=2021
N=2022
P=2023
R=2024 (doubt they made any in 2024? who knows).
I don't think its right to call it model year, since every country has its own registration dates/letters (America always seems to be selling next years car now, never understood that one lol).
I believe its simply the calendar year in which is was manufactured.
Whether that's when the frame was manufactured, or when the car was finished assembled is anyone's guess (Never really looked into it, they should be pretty much the same time, but you never know with low-ish production volumes).

The 10th digit in the VIN is "M" which I understand is the model year.
Confusingly, some vehicle check sites indicate that the my 'E' was manufactured
in 2024.
Still the actual date of manufacture escapes me. Need the actual date of manufacture to
determine how long the main 400 volt battery has been unused and whether there
has been any deterioration.
Over to the group.

Just checked my own - 10th digit is P, which means it was apparently built in 2023.
It was delivered in May of 2023 to Iceland, but it was ordered in May of 2022 and came into Iceland through Honda EU in Belgium. It's also a Limited Edition, so there's absolutely no way it was built in 2023.
I don't think the letters on the VIN plates being MY identifiers holds water to be honest.
That said, regardless of how long mine was in storage or on a ship in transport, it arrived at the dealer with 20km on the odometer and 11,000km later I'm still performing around the WLTP range, anywhere between 210 and 225km per charge in the summer so I don't think you need to be concerned about battery degredation while it was in storage. The only time I see less range per charge is when I do consisent out of town driving at >80kph, which drops the range to around 175-185km.

M in 10th digit on vin is 2021, no question there. If you want confirmation look at your tyre sidewall. You will find a 4 digit number. First two digits are the week second two are the year, your tyres will likely end in 21 or even 20. Assuming they haven't been changed from new. Originals are Michelin PS4.

Having worked in the auto manufacturing industry for best part of a decade - tire age is in no way a good idea to age the production date of a car.
Tires are delivered in the thousands to a manufacturing plant each day, and you're not even guaranteed to get tires from the same batch on all four corners of the same car. Tires can sometimes sit in ideal storage conditions for a year or two if they're made in bulk before they're shipped out to be used, depending on what a manufacturer prefers to put on their cars as OEM rubber.

Usually every car from 2004 and newer came with a certificate of conformity. In the CoC document is the exact date were the car came off the factory. 2021 model year (M in 10th digit) was started in may 2021 in Saitama factory for the Honda e.Gats wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 4:18 pm Good afternoon all,
