Charge port glass lid shattered….
There is currently a glass lid for sale on eBay but the guy wants £1,000 for it. Or you could just go to a a sign shop for someone who does vinyl window graphics and ask them to stick vinyl over the glass cover. As it's toughened glass it has shattered and it should still be in its correct form so to stop it from breaking into pieces you could try the vinyl option first. Good Luck
I believe Plexiglas could be an option too.EV70EEE wrote: ↑Tue Jan 10, 2023 11:20 pm There is currently a glass lid for sale on eBay but the guy wants £1,000 for it. I'm waiting for someone to review it as well. I'm wondering if it is just a shape cut Paint Protection Film. Because those are cheap(er) and easy to install.avoid wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 11:34 amDid anyone get this film? Is there any clarification to this? Does the film actually cover the glass part too or it's only for the bonnet?FMIB wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 5:55 pm For me, its not clear if this protection film is just a ring of film that goes around the charging port, or it also covers the glass as well

My lid cover got shattered too. It might have been a stone chip or might have been something else. Anyway - the impact was tiny.
These glass lids need to be protected somehow as they are way too sensitive...

Hi, I'm late to the party on this, but the glass on my charge port just shattered. The local Honda dealer quoted £2000 + to replace it.
There are a couple of comments in this thread that it is only a 10 minute or 20 minute job to do the replacement.
Does the new glass just "pop in" to the plastic lid once the old glass is cleared out, or is it glued in or retained by mastic?

The glass+ surrounding rubber, is just one piece with metal supports glued to it.GrumpyDunc wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 4:00 pm Hi, I'm late to the party on this, but the glass on my charge port just shattered. The local Honda dealer quoted £2000 + to replace it.

I've disassembled it when this situation first appeared but unfortunately lost the pictures.
Without any knowledge it took me 20m tops to get it out. From what i remember you need to remove the cover by letting both sides of the support that have springs loose.
After that there is a plastic cover that needs to be removed and that's it (there are shims were the metal brackets attach to the glass, don't lose them)... reverse to assembly.
If you wait i might take pictures of some important screws.
