My beautiful Honda E is damaged. I was driving down the motorway and a huge piece of *something* flew off the car in front of me and hit the front of my Honda E while I was travelling at 100 km / hour.

It was a decent whack, and as you can see, has damaged the front of my car.

I was hoping that it was cosmetic, however a light on the dashboard has come on, that suggests the "Pop Up Hood System" was activated, and perhaps my car (wrongly) thought I hit a pedestrian and has activated some safety feature.

The hood/bonnet looks fine to me and hasn't popped up at all. The manual says I should take the car to the dealer. Trouble is, Honda E isn't sold where I live so I'm anticipating this could be awkward.

Anyone on these forums have any experience with this "Pop Up Hood System" and what might have been involved to restore your car once it had been activated?

Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered to me :)

This doesn’t answer your question but have a look at this thread by Reuben80:

Interesting, thank you for the information!

I don't believe the bonnet system actually activated, so hopefully only the sensors need to be replaced.

Can you tell me if you resolved the situation? and how much to pay to fix the sensors?
