New owner with a couple of questions
Hey,
Congrats on your new car! For the door handle issue, it sounds like a software glitch. Try resetting the system or check with your dealer. For the keyless entry, you can usually disable it in the car’s settings menu. As for the cameras, applying a hydrophobic treatment like Rain-X can help with water beading.
When I bought my car, I used https://www.a1autotransport.com/ to get it delivered safely. They made the process easy and stress-free, which was a huge relief.

Nooooo! Why the hell do you think this is a good idea?MrM83 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 7:40 am The brake simulator issue is something that I am worried about. Im toying with the idea of seeing if I can find a local garage who can flush it and fill it with silicon based DOT 5 fluid instead. Grateful for thoughts on that? I assume anyone who has suffered the issue would thoroughly be on board with any preventative measures.
No the problem ist an incorrect manufactured pedal feel simulator and as a result a failed pressure sensor because of an internal leakage.
The leak will also occur with DOT 5 Brake fluid.
Keep in mind DOT 5 is not mixable with DOT 3, 4 or 5.1! Honda does not approve DOT 5 brake fluid! DOT 4 is the recommended brake fluid for Honda vehicles.
You can get seriously injured or killed by swapping out the DOT 4 brake fluid for DOT 5! Every rubber gasket or brake hose which was in contact with DOT 4 cant be reused for DOT 5 brake fluid.
There are special procedures to get rid of air inside the brake system because of the complex fluid path!
Please do not touch the brake system with hobby skills unless you are a special trained Honda e technician!
Noted. I was merely following info on the thread about the simulator failing and specifically with regards to the post on Fri Apr 12, 2024 9:33 am. I certainly don’t want to get seriously hurt or killed, so will park my hobby skills for now.
I am however planning to ask my local dealership about it when my car needs a service next year. Is the special trained Honda e technician different to a Jazz technician or a Civic technician?

There is no Jazz or Civic technician. But there was a requirement for dealerships to train a Honda mechanic by joining a Honda e course with an Honda engineer teaches them the special stuff of the Honda e. This was mandatory because the car was so different and complex than any other Honda before. Cant speak for the UK market but thats the case in germany.MrM83 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 5:23 pm Noted.
