Hi there.

It seems to be great. I continue to keep an eye on it. No issues in terms of starting the car. It sat for over a week in the cold snap with no problem. Early days but so far so good. Definitely holds charge steadier for longer than the Yuasa did.

Heya folks! First time poster, short-time owner of a lovely Honda e (called Harold) :D

After ~4yrs, the OEM Panasonic battery died. AFAIK it wasn't replaced by the previous owner.

Sadly this happened at the same time as the "Brake feel simulator" failed. But thankfully this was replaced under warranty!

But thanks to this thread I opted to replace the battery with an AGM unit, instead of EFB.

The terminals on the AGM battery were tiny... Way too small for the car's battery connectors. So I DIY'ed some copper shims out of some old 15mm pipe and quickly ordered some shims off Amazon

The battery has been shared on the forum before but this is the one I went for: Advanced Powerplus AGM 053

It's been running for 4 days without a hitch. But if it does all go catastrophically wrong I'll be sure to shout

On the look on the photo it looks "harold" is a blue one 😊

Love to know how many years this battery would last

Strange as I seem to recall mine came with the shims. In any case, glad you are up and running.

He is indeed blue! 😊 Running on 16" wheels (17" rims look WAY nicer though... Might replace them one day)

Just checked the box but definitely no shims for me, thankfully they weren't too unreasonably expensive to buy; I didn't trust my copper shims long-term ;)

Did you check inside the red & black plastic terminal covers?

I had the same issue and realised that the 'shims' came off with the plastic caps :o and just needed hooking out

Mine were grey, and definitely lacked shims :P No biggie! Just pleased that I've got a battery kicking out more than 5 volts
