Morning chaps, just a quick question on the climate pre-conditioning. Does it never use the power supply from the charger if the car is plugged in?

Not sure, mine didn't this morning, drained about 4% to defrost. Condensation in the car is always bad in the cold. Does anyone have an idea to resolve it?

Yeah, mine charged to 100% overnight, then I put the climate on with the car still plugged in and it took the SOC down to 92%. Bit silly that it doesn't use the mains power.

Re. condensation, have you got the defroster on in the climate settings?

100% this.

I started experimenting with this after I saw a few complaints on these forums and various owner's groups about condensation in the car during cold times. Generally, once the temperature is below freezing, you 100% want to have the defroster enabled in the preconditioning settings.

Without it, I get some window misting but it's nowhere near as bad as a lot of people have been experiencing (the cold tends to be very dry here in Iceland), but with it I never see my windows fog up at all.

Also, my boyfriend is one of those guys who just completely raidates heat, so whenever he's in the passenger seat in cold weather, both the front and back passenger side windows, plus the passenger side of the windscreen start to fog up. Turn the front and rear defrosters on, and it's gone within about a minute.

Totally agree wit this, they're very effective, don't underestimate them :)

Using the pre-condition plugged in; not sure how many KW the pre-condition use in each setting, but more juice to the battery gives less battery drain.

Using aircon will reduce humidity/remove condensation, even when heating.

Yes, but not due to the preconditioning. I will try the defroster though to see if it helps.
