Honda e sales figures
The range is the main turn off... at least for me. Having one and now in the winter.. real range is 120 to 140kms at best it has gotten a bit difficult to drive. In the summer having close to 200 kms range really made a difference (and my ideal would be 250kms real range). Now remember that countries like PT don't even have the advertised car app working and the 500e got here this month with everything ready.. much more range (at the cost of a lower kw motor and a bigger battery) plus a an app designed to show EV stations (that I use in my phone with the E)... The E is not selling.. gofigure ...

The cheapest 300+km 500e is pretty good value it seems.FDAD wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 4:36 pm The range is the main turn off... at least for me. However, the Honda E Advance can be bought for 288.000dkk here now, whereas "Icon" version of the 500e is 238.000dkk. That sounds pretty good, but it doesn't seem to have the same level of equipment the E does, though it does have a significantly larger battery and a WLTP range of 320km. You do have to pay extra for the panoramic roof, parking sensors, 360 cameras, adaptive cruise control (the package with the latter two is 12.000dkk alone), heated seats and steering wheel and so on. I haven't studied the brochure in detail but I wouldn't be surprised if you reached or got close to the same price as the E when you bought all that equipment and at that point, you're ending up with a car at a similar price but a cheaper feeling in my (arguably very limited) experience with it. I've been lucky enough to try and sit in the new 500 and though I'm probably a little biased, it's in my opinion not nearly as nice as the Honda. There's a lot of shitty plastic in the cabin and the seats and steering wheel aren't as comfortable (to me). Also, I haven't driven the 500, but with front wheel drive and a less powerful motor, I would be very surprised if it was as fun to ride .
So what you essentially get extra is significantly more range and definitely a nicer software experience, and though both are very important factors, how I use my car 99% of the time, the Honda is way better for me personally .
Also also: According to Fiat, it achieves that range with a "relatively" small battery due to an efficiency of 140Wh/km. That would make it.. the most efficient EV on the market? I'm skeptical, but would of course love to see it reach that level.

2000 km is only 66km a day, assuming that FDAD consistently does a similar daily mileage. The range and it’s suitability is completely personal. 2nd car available for long, surprise trips?
My biggest worry is the 171 litre boot size but I’ll cope for the joy the rest of the car will bring in comparison to my current Fiesta.

In the main there's only ever two of us in the car so we keep the parcel shelf permanently in the garage (the dark tinted windows help keep the inside free from prying eyes) and drop the rear seat back when required (the single centrally located handle to drop the rear seat back is an innovative idea we've not come across before.) There's then plenty of space up to the roof and to the front seat backs, quite surprising really.

I use the E as my main car... Sometimes I do about 200km/day. Mostly about 120 so with the current range I have to charge it everyday at least once a day... In the summer it wasn't so problematic...ajms0288 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 12:55 am 2000 km is only 66km a day, assuming that FDAD consistently does a similar daily mileage. I’m slightly jealous of you being able to drive it that much. I could walk to work but do average 40km a day somehow.

A night ago I made almost a full 50kms without getting of the city limits just jumping from place to place
This E is a replacement to a Punto from 94 with 330.000 kms... petrol my first car... bought it with 114k kms in 2012. It still runs fine but its parked. Serves as workhorse nowadays.
