I too have noticed how poor the cruise control is at maintaining a constant speed downhill. You shouldn't even need to use the brake pedal just to maintain speed when the cruise is on, but in the e you do.Ovuvuevuevue___Osas wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 10:01 pmany speed
If I set the limiter/cruise control to for example 50kph(or any other speed), it will not exceed that speed on a flat road or going uphill.
But if there is a sudden down hill stretch, the limiter/cruise control (even on "one pedal driving mode") with it's regenerative breaking isn't sufficient in slowing the car down and limiting speed (unless letting go of accelerator pedal in "one pedal driving mode", or otherwise applying the brakes).
So when the speed exceeds the set speed (in limiter/cruise control) by 3kph (If set speed was 50kph, and you're coasting at 53kph or more for example), an offensive and annoying chime sound will present itself and keep alerting until speed is reduced back down to the set speed.
That is the itch I need to scratch.
the sound needs to go
I am aware of the overspeed by the blinking number in the speedometer, I do not need the sound that accompanies it.
So far, this is my one and only issue with this car.

Hi
For anyone else searching for how to turn the beep/blink off when speeding, I can only clarify the following. YES, it can be turned OFF. You can turn it off in the Vehicle settings > Driver assist menu. However, it's not the Speed limit warning signal setting, but instead the Dashboard speed limit visibility setting (Sorry, I don't know the exact English names). It can be set to NONE or SCREEN. The default setting is Screen. If you turn this off, the beep and blink will stop. Unfortunately this is not a persistent setting and will revert back to Screen every time you turn off the car. The setting can also only be accessed and changed while car is in P (Parking) mode, so Honda decided to make this very cumbersome to change.
Looking at the regulations, Honda has made a very strict interpretation how to implement them. From my perspective I strongly advice against buying this car since the beep/blink is very stressful and creates a very unsafe driving environment when the car keeps blinking and beeping all the time. Especially when driving in the dark when the blinking is very annoying. Driving in city traffic the beep/blink will take a lot of your focus, instead of focusing on the traffic and other things going on around you. It's impossible to follow a normal traffic flow without having the beep/blink coming on and off all the time. I have bench-marked my vehicle's speed and when allowed speed is 110 km/h, I drive at 110 km/h according to my car, the actual speed is 103 km/h. So, the only way for me to keep up with the traffic is to speed = blink/beep. Honda could have made the implementation very different to make the system actually serve it's purpose. I have a neighbor that has the same car and he said - you'll learn to ignore it after a while. I guess that comment sums it up really well. Honda has introduced a disturbance in your car that you need to train yourself to ignore. I believe the intentions behind the regulations are really good, but the implementation doesn't work in reality. I actually believe they have made things worse - at least how it's implemented. They need to add a much higher tolerance before the warning kicks in, at least when driving in heavy traffic. Otherwise the purpose will be lost.

Am i the only person who has never used cruise control or speed limit in the E?
It takes great discipline to stick to the speed limit - if you try it without relying on the electronics, you will have a happier journey for sure.
The more you use the gadgets, the more you will get annoyed with the car, that's what I found.

I have the same issue and it is driving me crazy. All day I am listening to this chime and no the suggestions above did not help, even putting the warning limits to 150 and 160km/h did not help a bit. Any suggestions is more than welcome as it is driving me wild an dthis is the first week I have that CR-V. This being my seventh CR-V, this is for sure by far the most annoying feature Honda ever came up with.
I don’t have a speeding chime…
- is it because my e is older 2020?
- Is it because I’ve turned off the two alarms you can have in the instrument cluster (controlled by the left wheel on the steering wheel)?
- Is it because I have turned down the volume for system sounds?
- - general settings/system/system volumes
I do get a speed sign flashing in the instrument cluster, but no annoying sounds… and the flashing I just see as: Honda has noticed a new sign!

I'd imagine it's because it's set to "Screen" (as per reply from Zugarelli above) so you get the visual cue, but no audible cue. That's how mine is set too and I'm glad it can be, given that it's incorrectly guessing ~15% of the time.

He is saying when you are in cruise control and because of sudden downhill the speed increses more than it is set.henmyg wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 8:16 pm I don’t have a speeding chime…
