Upon closer inspection, I noticed the bracket nuts were exposed outside the seat. Reviewing the instructions confirmed that the armrest installation might not have been completed according to the guidelines.
The nuts have been fitted on outside, when they should be inside & not correctly torqued.

Edit:
It look like only one washer is available, is that correct?

Yes, only one washer supplied as far as I remember. In the video they have at least one nut exposed outside the seat which I guess was done because it's easier and it will be covered by the seat foam.
I didn't like the look of that so opted to have them all inside the seat which led to lots of skint knuckles but managed eventually.

Does anyone know can the armrest be removed from the bracket after it has been inserted?

You would have to slacken the inset grub screw with the Allen key to remove the arm rest.

I see the company that makes the armrest for Honda has an qi / wireless charger adapter that looks like it will work with our armrest - could make for a nice upgrade

Installation instructions for wireless charging are here -> https://armrest-systems.com/wp-content/ ... -06-13.pdf

Somehow the bracket that is attached to the seat, the end of it where the grub screw is has broken.

the armrest seems to function as normal but I’d like to remove it to inspect the bracket - and hopefully replace the bracket- But the armrest doesn’t want to side out of the bracket and i really don’t want to force it

I presume someone has applied too much downward force on you armrest and perhaps made the welded joint fail on the bracket.

The armrest is only held into the splined tube on the bracket by the grub screw holding on the groove on the shaft.

Thanks - its actually just the end of the bracket that is broken - it’s not clear to me how this happened

I was able to remove the armrest, all looks normal except this piece is broken off. Glue might be in my future.
