Best place for the phone mount?

Sure, These are the holders. Select the "vent" option and you'll get the ones that I got.

They come with two metal plates that stick to the back of your phone, or the back of your case.

I have a pretty meaty case on my phone, so I put the metal plate on the case rather than the phone and it works great!

I've put two small metal plates inside the phone's case, in spots where they do not interfere with NFC or wireless charging, and likewise two magnet mounts on the left centre vent:

The phone sits there horizontally, supported by the "ledge" underneath, and without obstructing any of the buttons Also, when the phone is not there, the two magnet mounts kinda resemble the two climate control dials, fitting the theme...
