Jalopnik: https://jalopnik.com/honda-to-lay-out-p ... 1851075003

I'm hoping for a 2 door - I know some upstart EV company has just announced a model called "Spectre", but it's their first EV, so hard to tell if it is any good.

The Jalopnik article is from last Wednesday and CES start on January 9th next year. Where are y'all getting the "2023" from?

Honda has put out a press release as well, so I'm not sure what you are on about.

You got me  I meant 2024

You must have some inside knowledge as I have obviously missed something, because nowhere does Honda state there will be 30 new EV's by 2030 to be announced at CES.

Ah, fair enough :-)

The number I've only seen in the Jalopnik article, so I guess the journalist heard it somewhere - or made it up, time will tell.

To be fair, the article about CES that's linked in that article is pointing to CES 2023 - which happened last January. It's confusing as all hell.

Regardless, there's not a chance Honda is going to have 30 new EVs by 2030. I still remember their aim to offer a "full 100% electric range of vehicles in Europe by end of 2023", which was the target when they first showed off the concept version of the e.

Hope they take a bigger leap than they did from the E to their latest EV the e:NY1 because when questioned at the dealership they say it doesn’t even have a heat pump and only charges at up to 78kW.
Would be good to have a version 2 of the E.

Am very curious. Had understood there was no new model in the pipeline for Europe for the coming years. The e:Ny1 was not even intended for Europe, It is an HR-V modified for China, but due to the pleas of European distributors, it did happen. A replacement for the e would not come at all (anymore), according to a Honda spokesperson.

I had the opportunity to test the e:Ny1 over the weekend. It's not a bad car, but it lacks the wow factor that our e has. You can compare the e:Ny1 to a BYD Atto3, but it's much more more expensive. I had rented the BYD last summer in Sweden, and it wasn't even a bad car at all.

We shall see.

While I was doing the paperwork at the dealership to collect my E last week I came across the article online about Honda’s decision to stop selling the E here, when I showed that to the sales guy he immediately took it to show the rest of the staff because it was news to him.
He said that from next year 25% of new vehicle sales must be EV’s and they will only have the e:Ny1 to sell. I wonder what the penalties are going to be if they can’t.
