I wouldn't say it's a flaw.. it's just dated software... It's a normal thing to happen... Either the car or the chargers need to be updated...

I would expect both parties IE car and charger to be singing from the same hymn sheet, IE car tells charger what it can accept then charger delivers that.

If there then is a compatibility issue session to stop not to fry a control board.

Otherwise there would have been more knackered Honda e by now with other high capacity chargers, we were first told that the e was capable of 100kW charging or should that have meant capable of being used on upto 100kW chargers.

I have only ever used a few public chargers the highest capability one being an instavolt charger but often you see other EV owners bemoaning their lower than advertised rate.

Maybe I'm overly cautious?

I used the e with a 250kw charger without issues... Nothing above 48kw of charging. The 100kw charging capabilities were vapourware...

The Honda e was sold as 'up to 100kW' charging.

That's a great form of interpretation.. as the onboard charger technically can go up to 60kw DC and... There is no upper limit for the charger as the public charger only delivers what the onboard charger allows... The car communicates what can receive and the charger provides...

I was going to post a warning about this because my Honda E has been with the local dealer for the past few days as the Power system indicator light would not disappear after Tesla supercharging. The full diagnostics have been sent to Honda for them to review but they think it’s something to do with the DC contactor being live when it shouldn’t.

I’d recommend avoiding!

Are they saying that the Tesla or car DC contactor was live when it shouldn’t be?
Either way that is a very serious safety issue and someone could be killed by this.
I think that you should get this confirmed because if it was the Tesla charger at fault then Honda MUST report this to the relevant government safety department. If it was the car was at fault, then a recall MUST be made to fix all of the Honda e’s.

Please let us know what Honda say.

per Londinium's post; 555djx, basic - please keep pushing this. It does sound extraordinary that 15118 has been made a rick of (by someone). Or a hardware failure, maybe?

Picked up my warranty repaired Honda e from the dealer yesterday afternoon. Charge control unit replaced and error message now cleared. I visited an Instavolt charger for a quick test charge; all good. I'm aware of at least one other Honda e that's suffered the same fate recently so, unfortunately, I'll be giving Tesla SuCs a wide berth until I hear something official from Honda about the issue.

I suggest everyone else does the same to put some pressure on them.

The £523 I previously mentioned must have been the part cost only, total including labour was £801.10!

I don't know if it's coincidental but after using a Tesla Supercharger just once it's resulted in a Warranty repair costing £801.10!

I'm aware of, so far, at least one other Honda e that has suffered the same fate; compatibility issue with the Tesla Supercharger perhaps?

Just giving you a heads-up, I'm very pleased with my Honda e, a fabulous car.
