Some Tesla Superchargers are open to all EVs in the UK. They are compatible with all Type 2 charging ports and you wont have any issue charging your EV.

Yes, I can confirm that this is a known issue and Honda E sometimes terminates the charging session on the Supercharger. This is currently under investigation.

Typical Tesla support, contradicting themselves in the space of three sentences on the same support issue.

A few years back I was a prospective buyer of a Model S. Then I experienced their customer support, and took a look at their showroom models, plus a couple that friends own. The level of service, plus when I saw how badly they're put together really put me off.

It was night and day to what I've experienced with Honda, Nissan, Subaru and Toyota.

Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, and there's no way I'd even consider using their charging infrastructure. It's tailor built for their cars, and you take a risk every time you plug something that's not OEM Tesla into it, because they don't give a fuck if it gets damaged and will provide zero support.

For what it's worth, I'm in the UK, I charged my E using the Supercharger just outside Reading on Monday and had no problems. I've only just got the car, didn't realise there could be potential issues as I'd previously charged a Polestar at that same Supercharger and had no problems with that either. Was expensive, only charged for ~20mins to verify it worked in case I'm ever really stuck (work is near there) but was getting 16-22kW as had around 70% battery left

Very interesting, do you know which supercharger station you charged at, was it the new V4 superchargers on the M4 services? Also did you pay start the charge through the Tesla app or via contactless payment?

I've tried to charge my Honda e on the V2 chargers at Wokingham which is also kind of near Reading, these did not work and caused the quick charge fault to show on the dash and the red light in the charging port. I have also tried the V3 Superchargers at Guildford and these caused the Power System warning indicator to show on my Honda e with the red light in the charge port, had to visit the main dealer to get the codes cleared.

I haven't had the chance to try the new V4 chargers yet, so seems like there could be a possibility these work.

Oh that’s interesting, I couldn’t even get the charge to start at all on those chargers, it just instantly made the light in the charge port go red… I would imagine if it worked and didn’t give you a fault then it should work every time. Those are the V2 chargers anyway which never caused any permanent issues anyway, usually clears the message after a couple of drives or opening the bonnet.

What model year is your Honda E, wondering if there is a software difference between our cars

I don’t think there is any way for us to tell. Possibly a way for Honda to tell via their HDS software but unsure.

Mines also a 2020 model so strange that one of our cars worked and the other didn’t, unless there’s been a change on the Tesla charger side.
